CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, National Youth Day was celebrated at the Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU) campus with great enthusiasm, discipline, and an inspiring atmosphere. On this occasion, the university organized a 3-kilometer run and a speech competition to strengthen the spirit of nation-building, discipline, physical fitness, and intellectual development among the youth. A total of 135 students from various faculties actively participated in these events, showcasing their talent and energy.

The program began with the 3-kilometer run, which was flagged off by Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university. During the race, students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and discipline. Participants completed the run with full vigor, embodying Swami Vivekananda’s message: “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”

At the conclusion of the run, the event was graced by Prof. Ravi Prakash Dubey, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sangeeta Johri, Registrar, Dr. Avinash Singh, Head of Department, Paramedical Science (with faculty members), Public Relations Officer Vijay Pratap Singh, Head of Admissions Anil Tiwari, Sports Officer Satish Ahirwar, NCC Officer Sub-Lieutenant Manoj Singh Manral, and NCC Instructor Durga Verma. All dignitaries encouraged the participants, motivating them to adopt a healthy lifestyle and regularly engage in sports activities.

In the 3-kilometer race, Zeeshan Khan, a student from the Faculty of Law, secured first place for his outstanding performance. Virat Kumar, a B.E. Mechanical student, finished in second place, and Abhay Kant, a B.Pharm student, secured third place. The winners were congratulated by the dignitaries, who also wished them a bright future.

In the afternoon session, a speech competition was held on the topic “Youth, Innovation, and Developed India.” Students delivered impactful speeches on the role of youth in national development, the need for innovation, the vision of a self-reliant India, and the concept of a developed India. Their speeches reflected Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, national consciousness, and social responsibility.

The speech competition was evaluated by Dr. Ruchi Mishra, Dean of Humanities and Arts Faculty, and Dr. Harsha Sharma, Coordinator, Student Services (Examinations). Mohini Patel, a B.Sc. student, won first place, Sanskriti, a BPT student, secured second place, and Lav Sahu, a BBA student, achieved third place. The judges praised the participants for their subject knowledge, presentation style, and confidence.

The entire program was successfully organized by the RNTU NCC Naval Wing in collaboration with the Department of Paramedical Science. The event showcased exemplary discipline, punctuality, and coordination.

At the conclusion of the program, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Aditi Chaturvedi, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravi Prakash Dubey, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, and Registrar Dr. Sangeeta Johri wholeheartedly appreciated the students’ enthusiasm, participation, and discipline. They stated that Swami Vivekananda’s teachings remain a guiding force for the youth and that such programs strengthen leadership skills, self-confidence, and a sense of duty toward the nation.
