Bhopal, June 27, 2025 – In a major move to empower farmers and boost agri-exports, the Madhya Pradesh Cooperative Union and Mandi Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Cooperative Export Limited (NCCEL). The event, held in Bhopal, was attended by Cooperation Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang and Agriculture Minister Shri Endal Singh Kanshana.
Minister Sarang highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Cooperation Minister Amit Shah initiated NCCEL to help farmers reap better profits through export-linked cooperative structures. “Through this MoU, farmers of Madhya Pradesh will gain access to global markets, and the cooperative movement will be significantly strengthened,” he said. So far, 1,578 societies from MP have registered for NCCEL membership.
Shri Kanshana underlined the role of cooperation in agriculture, noting that Madhya Pradesh has consistently led in the sector, having received the Krishi Karman Award seven times. “This partnership will institutionalize export of spices and handicrafts, ensuring that farmers receive the right value,” he added.
Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Varnwal said the MoU would facilitate export based on global demand, ensuring better pricing for farmers. He emphasized that crops like rice, spices, coriander, chili, and bananas from MP are now poised for international reach.
NCCEL MD Shri Anupam Kaushik assured that MP’s unique products will soon be directly connected to international markets, enhancing farmers’ income through branding, packaging, and adherence to global standards.
Organized as part of the International Year of Cooperatives, the workshop featured expert sessions on export procedures, packaging, branding, and international standards. Farmers, handicraft producers, FPOs, and cooperatives participated in large numbers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Cooperative Commissioner Shri Manoj Pushp, affirming the state’s commitment to farmer-centric cooperative export growth.
