CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: Players from the National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), Bhopal, delivered an impressive performance while representing India at the Asian Canoe Sprint Championship 2026 (Junior and U-23), held in Turkistan, Kazakhstan.
A 25-member Indian contingent took part in the competition, including six players from Bhopal.
Medal-winning players from NCOE Bhopal:
• Tarun Dedha – bronze medal in Junior Men’s C2 500 metres
• Arvind Kumar Verma – bronze medal in U-23 Men’s C2 500 metres
• L. Neha Devi and Arvind Verma – bronze medal in U-23 Mixed C2 500 metres
• Arvind Kumar, Tarun Dedha and Vishal Dhaka – bronze medal in U-23 Men’s C4 500 metres
The medals won across these events reflect the depth of talent being developed at the National Centre of Excellence, Bhopal, and also highlight the effectiveness of the structured training and support system being provided by the Sports Authority of India.
Bhopal Regional Director Abhishek Singh Chauhan congratulated the players on their achievement and said, “Winning medals in this continental-level competition is a significant achievement and reflects the hard work, discipline and dedication of the players, coaches and support staff. Such performances further strengthen our belief in India’s growing potential in canoe sprint at the international level.”
