CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NEET, JEE, UPSC or UGC NET: Which exam is the toughest? Know the full picture
Lakhs of candidates preparing for competitive examinations in India often face the question of which examination is the toughest among NEET, JEE, UPSC and UGC NET. However, comparing these examinations only on the basis of difficulty is not easy, as each exam has a different purpose, syllabus, level of questions, competition and selection process.
The UPSC Civil Services Examination has several stages, including the preliminary examination, the main examination and the personality test. Along with general studies, answer writing, analysis and an understanding of current events are important in this exam. Due to the limited number of posts, competition for final selection remains very high.
JEE Advanced is among the major examinations conducted for admission to engineering institutions. It includes difficult and conceptual questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics. NEET-UG, on the other hand, is the major national-level examination for medical admissions, with questions based on physics, chemistry and biology. A large number of candidates compete for a limited number of medical seats.
UGC NET is mainly linked to eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and assistant professorship in Indian universities and higher education institutions. It includes questions related to research and teaching aptitude, along with a deep understanding of the specific subject.
Therefore, it would not be appropriate to definitively call any one examination the “toughest” for all candidates. The difficulty of an examination also depends on a candidate’s academic background, command over the subject, preparation strategy and the level of competition.
