NEET Re-Exam Security Gets Unprecedented Lockdown Measures

CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In an extraordinary effort to restore confidence in the medical entrance examination process, authorities have placed all experts involved in preparing the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination question paper under strict lockdown until the test is conducted on June 21. The unprecedented security arrangement covers paper setters, moderators, translators, and other personnel associated with question paper preparation, who have been shifted to a secure and undisclosed location with no access to phones, internet services, laptops, or outside communication.

The move forms part of a comprehensive multi-layered security framework introduced after the cancellation of the original NEET-UG 2026 examination amid allegations of a paper leak. Authorities aim to prevent any possibility of unauthorized access to examination material and ensure complete transparency throughout the process. Additional safeguards include extensive surveillance, AI-based monitoring systems, strengthened coordination among agencies, and large-scale deployment of security personnel across examination centres nationwide.

More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the re-examination, making it one of the largest entrance tests in the country. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has emphasized that the enhanced measures are designed to protect the integrity of the examination and rebuild trust among students, parents, and educational institutions. Fresh admit cards and examination-related updates are being issued through the official NEET portal ahead of the June 21 test.
