CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Through the efforts of Executive Professor Ajay Singh, AIIMS has been declared a Center of Excellence for the treatment of rare diseases by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. AIIMS is continuously striving to promote pediatric care and genetic health awareness. In this direction, the Department of Pediatrics at AIIMS organized a “Neonatal Screening Awareness Session.” Dr. Ajay Singh of AIIMS stated, “Neonatal screening is very important to us as it provides an opportunity for timely diagnosis and treatment. This session will help ensure that all members of our community understand the benefits of neonatal screening and use it properly. We will continue our efforts to spread awareness about this crucial process to as many people as possible.”

This session was organized as part of Neonatal Screening Awareness Month, aimed at educating parents, healthcare workers, and the general public about the importance of neonatal screening. The session emphasized the early detection of conditions such as hypothyroidism, sickle cell anemia, metabolic disorders, and other rare genetic diseases. Around 80-100 people participated in the event and were made aware of neonatal screening.
