CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the second day of the three-day workshop at Bhoj Open University, various activities were organized, including group discussions, panel discussions, and online lectures.

Dr. B. Shedrick, Director of the Commonwealth Educational Media Center for Asia, New Delhi, emphasized the importance of 21st-century skill development under the New Education Policy 2020. He highlighted that achieving a 50% Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in higher education by 2035 is a significant goal. Shedding light on the role of open universities, he stated that their aim is to provide higher education to areas inaccessible to traditional universities.

Expert Directors Jane Frances and Jako Olivier from the Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, shared their insights on employment skill projects. They emphasized the need to develop practical and technical skills among students.

Industry expert C.P. Sharma highlighted the importance of education for students, stating, “Knowledge is the true wealth that can never be taken away.”

Professor Sarojini Choy from Griffith University, Australia, emphasized new methods for skill assessment among students. Meanwhile, Rajeev Agrawal, President of the Mandideep Industries Association, discussed industry expectations and the need to adapt curricula to align with technological advancements.

The workshop concluded for the day with a presentation session by Dr. Ashish Awadhiya, Assistant Professor at IGNOU’s Online Education Center. The workshop will continue on its third and final day.
