West Central Railway General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay conducted an inspection of the Jabalpur-Katni Murwara rail section. During the inspection, she reviewed the stations, railway bridges, OHE lines, signaling systems, and level crossings on this rail corridor. She also assessed the running quality of the section and gathered detailed information on patrolling activities. Special attention was given to the safety and security of gangmen and trackmen working at level crossings and along the railway tracks, and necessary instructions were provided to officials.
Inspection of New Katni Junction Grade Separator Project
General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay commenced the inspection of the New Katni Junction and Katni Murwara Grade Separator Project using a perak inspection car. Senior officials, including the Chief Administrative Officer (Construction), Principal Chief Engineer, Jabalpur Divisional Railway Manager, and officials from IRCON, accompanied her for a detailed site assessment.
She thoroughly reviewed the project, inspected the fabrication workshop, and evaluated the construction progress, layout, and ongoing work. She directed officials to ensure high-quality construction and complete the project within the scheduled deadline.

Up Side: 1,570 foundations & 264 piers completed
Down Side: 2,592 foundations & 425 piers completed
Project cost: ₹1,800 crore
Technology: High-quality materials, advanced techniques, and heavy machinery are being used.
Significance: This will be India’s longest railway viaduct.
