CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: General Manager of North Central Railway, Upendra Chandra Joshi, along with Chetna Joshi, President of NCR Women’s Welfare Organization, inaugurated the new pavilion at Railgaon Stadium on Saturday. The GM stated that the new facility would be extremely helpful in improving the sports environment.
The General Manager congratulated all the players, the sports association, and the construction team for this new facility. He said that sports teach us punctuality, patience, discipline, teamwork, and dedication. Playing sports helps us build and enhance self-confidence. It also teaches us team spirit, which helps us tackle difficult situations and challenges together with ease.
President of the North Central Railway Sports Association, S.P. Dwivedi, mentioned that this new facility has been developed at a cost of approximately ₹4 crore and will be highly beneficial for all players and railway employees. He expressed his gratitude to the General Manager for the development of the pavilion and congratulated and thanked the team that brought it to fruition.
It is noteworthy that this newly constructed pavilion includes dressing rooms for two teams, a reception area, dormitories for players, a dining room, additional rooms, a store room, and seating arrangements for spectators in the stands.
On this occasion, a cricket match was also held between the General Manager’s XI and the Divisional Railway Manager’s XI. The GM’s XI won the match by 4 runs. After winning the toss, the Divisional Railway Manager’s XI chose to field first. Batting first, the GM’s XI scored 157 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. In response, the DRM’s XI could manage only 153 runs for three wickets in the allotted overs. After the match, the General Manager presented trophies to both the winning and runner-up teams.
