Key batter Mark Chapman and all-rounder Rachin Ravindra have been ruled out of the series after failing to fully recover from injuries. The ODI series between India and New Zealand will begin on November 4 in Auckland.

According to New Zealand Cricket, Mark Chapman is recovering from a left hamstring injury. A recent MRI scan showed he still needs about two more weeks of rehabilitation to regain full fitness. Rachin Ravindra is recovering from a right shoulder injury. His shoulder has not yet regained enough strength for him to field at full capacity. With the upcoming Test series in mind, the team management has decided not to rush his return.

New Zealand have made changes to the squad in view of the absence of both players. Wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert will now be available for all five ODIs. Henry Nicholls will be part of the squad for the first three matches, while Dean Foxcroft will join for the final two games. The five-match series will be played from November 4 to 15. The absence of both experienced players could increase New Zealand’s batting challenge.
