Intiative by NITTTR on Science Day

ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS The Applied Science Department of NITTTR Bhopal will compile the life and noteworthy

contribution done by prominent ancient and modern Indian scientists and mathematicians of the

country.

According to Prof. C. C. Tripathi, Director NITTTR  it is known very little about Indian ancient

scientists and their contribution which became the basis of the discoveries of the modern era.

Soon the incredible contribution of all these scientists of the country will be compiled in the

NITTTR campus so that the rich Indian knowledge tradition

can reach the teachers and students coming from all over the country. Today when we read about all

these, we feel proud and even surprised at our rich history.

According to Prof P K Purohit, Head of Applied Science Department, the list of great ancient and

modern scientists includes the names of Bhaskaracharya, Aryabhatta, Srinivasa Ramanujan,

Baudhayana, Varahmihir, Sridharacharya, Maharishi Nagarjuna, Acharya Sushruta, Maharishi

Kanad, Rishi Patanjali, Rishi Brahmagupta, Dr. Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar, Maharishi Charak,

Maharishi Vagbhat, Mahaviracharya, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Rai, Sir C.V. Raman, Jagdish

Chandra Bose, Homi Jehangir Bhabha, Homi Nausherwanji Sethna, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and many

more including India's leading women scientists, who became an inspiration to everyone with their

success,

such as Darshan Ranganathan, Asima Chatterjee, Dr. Kadambini Ganguly, Janaki Ammal, Anna

Mani, Bibha Chowdhary etc.
