ITDC INIDA EPRESS/ ITDC NEWS: United States (US) President Joe Biden is set to hold bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Delhi to attend the G20 meeting on Thursday.
The G20 summit will take place on September 9 and 10.
The White House in a statement said that the President will travel to New Delhi to attend the G20 Leaders' Summit. “On Friday, the President will participate in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said the White House in a statement.
Wide range of topics including efforts to tackle global issues, clean energy transition and combating climate change will be on the table for discussion.
The G20 or Group of 20 is the forum for developed and developing economies. The members represent around 85 per cent of the global GDP, over 75 per cent of the global trade and about two-thirds of the world population.
During the meeting, discussions on the Russia-Ukraine war will also take place. Global challenges, poverty, financial issues including the World Bank, and economic growth will also be discussed.
After the G20, Biden will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam on September 10. The president will meet General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and other key leaders to discuss ways to further deepen cooperation between the United States and Vietnam, read the statement.
