CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday appointed central observers to states where it won the Assembly elections recently to elect the legislative party leader.

In a release, the BJP said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Vinod Tawade and Saroj Pandey have been appointed as observers for Rajasthan. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, K. Laxman, Asha Lakra are the observers for Madhya Pradesh; Union Ministers Arjun Munda and Sarbananda Sonowal and Dushyant Gautam have been appointed as central observers for Chattisgarh.

The party, which won the elections to the three states with a comfortable majority haven’t been able to select a CM face yet. The new legislative party leaders will become chief ministers of the respective states.

BJP national president J.P. Nadda was seen leaving the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday evening after a long meeting. Leaders from the three states have also been meeting the top party brass over the last few days but sources played it down, calling the meetings routine affairs.

Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje was seen also visiting Nadda at his residence. Reports claimed that Nadda met Raje to take her into confidence and to seek her views before finalising the chief minister.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also took a dig at the BJP on Thursday for the delay in selecting a CM face. “Less than 24 hours after the election results were out on December 3rd, the Congress party was being criticised in the media by all and sundry for a so-called ‘delay’ in appointing a CM for Telangana. Well, our CM was announced day before and is taking over at 1pm today (Thursday). But 3 days have gone by and the BJP has been unable to even announce its CMs for Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Why is the BJP not being called out for what is actually a delay?,” he tweeted.
