CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the second day of his Varanasi visit, will flag off the second 'saffron' Vande Bharat train between Varanasi and New Delhi. He will also dedicate the 402 km-long stretch of the new Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) on Monday.
Other events on the Prime Minister's schedule include the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra programme at Barki Gram Sabha of Sewapuri development block and the launch of infrastructure projects worth Rs 19,155 crore to Varanasi and Purvanchal. Modi will inaugurate the Lahartara-Phulwaria-Shivpur four-lane road, completed for Rs 166 crore. He may also visit and offer prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the Kaal Bhairav Temple.
Vande Bharat
The Vande Bharat train, to be flagged off on Monday afternoon, boasts multiple features, including onboard Wi-Fi infotainment, GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, bio-vacuum toilets with touch-free conveniences, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath every seat, individual touch-based reading lights and concealed roller blinds.
"It has better heat ventilation and air-conditioning system with UV lamp for germ-free supply of air. The intelligent air-conditioning system adjusts the cooling according to the climate conditions/occupancy," the statement said.
The train will start at 6:00 am from Varanasi to New Delhi for six days a week except on Tuesday. The train will reach New Delhi at 2:05 pm and depart for Varanasi after 55 minutes at 3:00 pm. It will reach its destination station at 11:05 pm.
Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor
The new segment -- New Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to New Bhaupur Junction segment - is a crucial part of the Eastern DFC and is situated on the Delhi-Howrah rail route. The corridor connects the coal fields of Jharkhand and West Bengal, such as Eastern Coalfields Limited, Central Coalfields Limited, Bharat Coking Coal Limited and Northern Coalfields Limited, to power plants in Northern India.
