CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal : Jayanti Yadav from the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, AIIMS Bhopal and Roshan Sutar from the Department of Psychiatry, both faculty members, recently participated in a three-day workshop organized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Madhya Pradesh, through the National Health Mission. This workshop focused on "Medico Legal Care for Victims of Sexual Violence".
Prof. Jayanti Yadav briefed on the important aspects of sample collection and forensic documentation in a practical session on medical examination and reporting procedures for survivors/victims of sexual violence. Prof. Roshan Sutar addressed the trauma survivors/victims of sexual violence in a session dedicated to psychological care.
He gave information about what to do to get out and to make the life of such people normal again. More than 25 doctors committed to enhance their understanding and expertise in dealing with cases of sexual violence participated in the workshop designed for medical officers. The objective of the programme was to equip medical officers with the comprehensive knowledge and skills required to provide holistic care to survivors/victims of sexual violence.

Underlined the importance of accurate documentation and sensitive patient care. Carpenter's session highlighted the critical role of psychological support in the treatment journey of survivors/victims, emphasizing the principles of empathy and trauma-informed care.
