CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Delhi Rouse Avenue Court has issued fresh summons to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, asking him to appear physically in Court on March 16 after the Enforcement Directorate filed a fresh complaint against the chief minister for dishonouring summons. The Court had asked Kejriwal to appear in court in an earlier summons as well.
The Enforcement Directorate filed a fresh complaint before the court seeking prosecution of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for skipping summonses No 4 to 8 sent by the federal probe agency under Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. However, responding to a recent summons on Monday, the AAP leader said though the summons was illegal, he would appear before the agency virtually after March 12.
Tweeting about the ED’s action, Kejriwal charged ED is harassing political leaders and getting them to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. “After getting the ED raid done, the question is asked - where will you go - BJP or jail? Those who refuse to go to BJP, they send them to jail,” Kejriwal tweeted. He added, “If Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh join BJP today, they will get bail tomorrow itself. It is not that these three have committed any crime, they just refused to join the BJP. If I join BJP today, I will also stop getting summons from ED.”
