ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued campaigning for the BJP in the assembly elections on Friday by addressing a rally in Almora, Uttarakhand. Uttarakhand goes to polls on February 14.

Modi exuded confidence about the BJP's prospects in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. Modi was quoted by ANI as saying, “After first phase of polling in UP elections yesterday, it's clear that BJP will win with record numbers. More than us, the public is determined make BJP win these polls. Voters never leave the side of those who have good intentions.”

Modi implored voters in Uttarakhand to persist with the BJP, by citing ongoing development projects. “This decade belongs to Uttarakhand, don't let this opportunity pass. Recently, projects worth Rs 17,000 crore were inaugurated in the state. The Char Dham all-weather road will benefit Tanakpur-Pithoragarh section,” Modi said.

Modi promised to build “modern roadways and transport infrastructure” in the state. Modi vowed that the government of Pushkar Singh Dhami would work aggressively to further develop the tourism sector in Uttarakhand. Modi heaped scorn on the Congress and claimed it was reliant on Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. “See what has become of Congress... only the brother-sister duo is campaigning. Don't they have any other leaders left in the party? Today, their own leaders do not want to be with the party. Then, how can they give anything to you?”
