Yogi directs ministers, IAS officers to declare assets

CM says ministers' family members should not intervene in government work

ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has mandated that all ministers will make details of their movable and immovable assets available in the public domain. The directive is also extended to the ministers' immediate family members.

The details have to be made available in such a format that is “readable” within three months. This directive also extends to members of the Indian Administrative Service and Provincial Civil Services.

Yogi, who has been receiving presentations from all departments since taking oath as a second time, has also asked his ministers to ensure availability on fixed days in the capital and in their constituencies. While on Monday and Tuesday all ministers are to be present in Lucknow, they have to be available in their constituencies on Friday and Saturday. The CM has also cautioned against interference by any family member of the ministers in official decisions.  

Before the next Vidhan Sabha session, which is likely to start in the second week of May, ministers are also to tour the districts and interact with people. Eighteen ministerial groups have been formed to cover the 18 administrative divisions in 75 districts of the state.

While two are headed by the two deputy chief ministers and have a minister of state, the rest have three ministers each. The groups are to be assigned different divisions on a rotational basis. 

While second time deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya has been given the Agra division, his first-time counterpart Brajesh Pathak has been tasked with overseeing the Varanasi division.

While touring the various constituencies, ministers are to interact with people on issues such as security of women, sexual offences against children, and action taken under the Gangster Act. Such visits are to also include dining programmes with dalits. Reports from these visits will be presented before the CM.

The ministers, who go on tours to other states, should share their learnings with other ministerial colleagues, the CM said.

Adityanath told his colleagues that the state government had provided a model of development and good governance in the first five years and thus it was in competition with its own former tenure.
