ITDC INDIA EPRESS/ITDC NEWS R Over the past few days, the Congress has been staging protests in various parts of the country against Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioning party leader Rahul Gandhi in connection with a money laundering case pertaining to the National Herald-AJL deal.
While the party has been accusing the Delhi Police of high-handedness and acting at the behest of the ruling BJP, a video that has gone viral showed party leader Renuka Chowdhury grabbing a policeman by his collar during a protest in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The video shows the Congress leader arguing with the policeman, before being taken away by women cops. A case has been filed against Congress leader over the incident.
According to PTI, police had foiled the attempts by the Congress protesters to lay siege to the Raj Bhavan, as part of a 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' call given by the party's ' Telangana unit.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and party MP A. Revanth Reddy, Congress legislature party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and several others were taken into preventive custody by police as they were proceeding towards Raj Bhavan.
