CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the Family Welfare Program, sterilization services are being continuously expanded. The Health Department is also involving non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to support the program. These organizations will facilitate service delivery, mobilization, and awareness activities.

As part of this initiative, the Foundation of Reproductive Health Services India has inaugurated a one-stop family welfare center at Krishna Arcade, Bagsewania. The event was attended by Bhopal Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Deputy Director of the Family Welfare Program Pramod Goyal, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer Ashwin Bhambal, State Consultant Jaideep, and State Head of FRHS India Vipin Kumar.

The center will be operated by Ramesh Badwe, Shalini Saxena, and Abha Jindal, and has been accredited by the District Quality Assurance Committee. Sterilization services at the center will be provided free of cost. Beneficiaries undergoing sterilization will also receive a payment of ₹1,000. Meanwhile, medical termination of pregnancy will be available at affordable rates.

Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMHO Bhopal, stated that field staff of the Health Department are consistently working to provide information and deliver family welfare services to targeted couples. To accelerate the program, private healthcare institutions and NGOs are also extending their support. Family welfare services are available free of cost in government hospitals, and couples can choose methods based on their convenience.
