CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Chief Wildlife Warden of Rajasthan to submit an affidavit within two weeks, detailing the steps taken to remove encroachments from the Nahargarh Wildlife Sanctuary (NWLS) and to assign accountability for any official negligence. This directive follows contradictory reports submitted by forest officials regarding the sanctuary’s boundaries, making the issue contentious.

A report by a high-level committee formed by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (PCCF & HoFF) aimed to resolve the matter but is currently under challenge in court. Despite this, the NGT emphasized that the Chief Wildlife Warden holds immediate responsibility and must clarify the status of encroachments. Additionally, the Warden is tasked with initiating action against field officials whose inaction allowed the encroachments. All related matters will be consolidated for hearing on December 18, 2025.
