CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NHDC Limited, a leading hydropower and solar energy generation company of Madhya Pradesh, celebrated its 26th Foundation Day on August 1, 2025 (Friday) with a grand event held at Subhash Yadav Auditorium, Bhopal. The cultural evening featured melodious performances by renowned singer Arunita Kanjilal, enchanting the audience.

The program was inaugurated by Shri Rajendra Prasad Goyal, Chairman & Managing Director of NHPC and Chairman of NHDC, through ceremonial lamp lighting. Board members of NHDC and senior government officials were also present on the occasion.

In his address, Mr. Goyal emphasized NHDC’s significant contribution towards making Madhya Pradesh self-reliant in the energy sector. He highlighted that two hydropower and two solar power projects have laid a strong foundation for sustainable energy in the state. He also appreciated NHDC’s efforts under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its energy conservation awareness campaigns.

NHDC Managing Director Shri Rajeev Jain shared the corporation’s achievements, future plans, and challenges while congratulating the officers and staff. Several dignitaries from the government and members of the NHDC family also attended the ceremony.

NHDC Limited is a joint venture of NHPC Limited and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, established in 2000. At present, it supplies 100% of its generated electricity to the state through the Indira Sagar Power Station (1000 MW), Omkareshwar Power Station (520 MW), Ground-Mounted Sanchi Solar Project (8 MW), and Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project (88 MW).

NHDC continues to make consistent efforts to ensure energy self-reliance in Madhya Pradesh through renewable energy alternatives.
