CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Second Convocation of National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh Concludes Successfully

The Second Convocation of the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh (NID MP) was held on 21st November 2025 in the main auditorium with a dignified atmosphere. Degrees were conferred upon the 2020–2024 and 2021–2025 undergraduate batches. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, faculty members, parents, and members of the design community.

The event began with the traditional lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, followed by a formal announcement of the inauguration by Dr. Sandhya Bhullar, Chairperson of the Governing Council.

Dr. Vidya Rakesh, Director of NID MP, presented the institutional report, congratulating the students and highlighting that the institute achieved several prestigious awards and notable accomplishments in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) this year.

Among the distinguished guests, Anthony Lopez, founder of Lopez Design and an NID alumnus, inspired students to pursue responsible, ethical, and innovation-driven design. Drawing from his experiences, he shared seven key learnings, emphasizing that true progress is measured by the dedication to effort rather than outcomes.

Another distinguished guest, Shivramakrishnan Ganapati, owner of Gokuldas Exports, highlighted global opportunities in design and encouraged students to take risks, develop leadership skills, and explore entrepreneurship, noting that India’s progress will further expand possibilities for designers.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Tessy Thomas, former Director General (Aeronautical Systems) at DRDO, delivered an inspirational address, appreciating the growth of NID MP and its technology-integrated education. She explained the relationship between design and defense innovation with examples such as smart helmets, AR/VR interfaces, head-up displays, and advanced textile systems, urging students to focus on technology that serves people and the nation.

Dr. Sandhya Bhullar wished the students a bright future, emphasizing that in design education, unlearning and relearning are critical. She advised students to embrace teamwork, mental and physical health, and core principles, noting the rapidly growing demand and opportunities for design in India.

The ceremony concluded with Registrar Mr. Krishna Birhman expressing gratitude to all guests, faculty, staff, students, and parents.

Degree and Medal Distribution

Degrees were awarded to students who successfully cleared the graduation project jury for 2024 and 2025. Medals were presented to students demonstrating excellent performance in various subjects, and special recognition was given to overall toppers.

Convocation Pledge and Closure

Students took a pledge to commit to ethical, responsible, and sensitive design, followed by the national anthem, marking the conclusion of the convocation.

NID Madhya Pradesh congratulated all graduates and wished them a bright and successful future.
