CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhopal, organized its 13th Convocation at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Center, honoring the Class of 2025 and celebrating the achievements of the next generation entering the design industry. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was IAS Tanu Kashyap, Director General of NIFT, who visited the Bhopal campus for the first time. In her inspiring address, she reminded graduates that design is not only about creativity but also responsibility towards society and the environment, and praised the Bhopal campus as a powerful learning hub for creative youth.
This year, 91 students received degrees across three programs:
Fashion & Lifestyle Accessory Design (F&LA, 2021–25): 27 students
Textile Design (TD, 2021–25): 32 students
Master of Fashion Management (MFM, 2023–25): 32 students

Additionally, 20 awards were presented recognizing academic excellence, innovation, and leadership. Five Gold Medals were awarded to the top achievers:
Shaili Jain (B.Des., Textile Design) – NIFT Student of the Year Award
Modita Shah (B.Des., Textile Design) – NIFT Exceptional Service Award
Riya Jhaver (B.Des., Accessory Design) – Best Academic Performance Award
Ayushi Dixit (B.Des., Fashion & Lifestyle Accessories) – Best Graduate Project & Most Practical Design Intervention
Sia Marwah (Fashion Management, Masters) – Best Portfolio Project (Marketing/Retailing)

Director of NIFT Bhopal, Akhil Sahay, presented the annual academic report, emphasizing that a convocation marks the beginning of new professional and personal chapters, not the end of a journey. The Chief Guest, State Minister for External Affairs and Textiles, Pabitra Margerita, congratulated the graduates and highlighted the role of designers in preserving India’s craft heritage and strengthening its global presence. Special Guest, Shalini Jaykaria, Founder of Geisha Designs, inspired students to embrace originality and flexibility as core life values.
Academic Head Dr. Shinju Mahajan administered the convocation oath, urging graduates to remain lifelong learners and innovators. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Campus Academic Coordinator Dr. Debjyoti Ganguli, acknowledging contributions from faculty, staff, students, and dignitaries.
Graduates, adorned in ceremonial robes, filled the atmosphere with pride and celebration as they received their degrees. Sejal Joshi, a graduate in F&LA (2021–25), shared her internship experiences at Marks & Spencer Reliance India, describing practical knowledge gained through UI/UX design projects as pivotal in shaping her career direction. The convocation reaffirmed NIFT Bhopal’s position as a leading institution in design education and a vibrant center advancing India’s creative and cultural heritage.
