CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: Embracing rapid advances in information technology, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bhopal, organised its quarterly Hindi workshop for the April-June 2026 cycle. The session began at 4:00 pm in the seminar hall of the NIFT Bhopal campus.
All officers, faculty members and staff of the institute took part in the workshop, reflecting the institute’s commitment to integrating modern technology with the official administrative framework. The central theme of this quarter’s workshop was “appropriate methods for the exchange of ideas in the official language using AI.” The session focused on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can overcome linguistic barriers, improve government work processes and promote the smooth use of Hindi in day-to-day public sector administration.
As guest speaker, the institute invited Sanjay Tripathi, esteemed Secretary of the Official Language Implementation Committee of the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Bhopal. Director Akhil Sahay welcomed him by presenting a plant sapling.
Tripathi gave a detailed presentation on how the Government of India is actively moving towards a digital ecosystem for implementing official language policies. He explained how AI tools can significantly reduce translation time while maintaining the accuracy, grammar and formal tone required in official correspondence.
The workshop also featured practical demonstrations of emerging AI translation and productivity tools that are currently transforming government and public sector work.
The session highlighted the ecosystems of Anuvadini, an AI-based translation tool developed by the Ministry of Education, and Bhashini, India’s National Language Translation Mission platform. These indigenous AI models enable real-time, highly accurate speech-to-text and document translation in designated Indian languages, ensuring that policies and educational resources are made available promptly in the official language.
The use of Kanthasth, a translation memory software developed specifically for the Department of Official Language, was also discussed to show how previously approved government terminology can be automated for official drafts.
The speaker further explained how advanced neural machine translation engines such as DeepL and Google Cloud Translation AI are being used within secure environments to translate large corporate, legal and technical datasets into accurate official-language formats.
Tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT Enterprise were presented as essential support systems for bilingual drafting, helping administrative staff prepare notes, circulars and meeting minutes simultaneously in Hindi and English.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which NIFT officials and faculty members discussed the implementation of these AI translation modules in design teaching and administrative documentation. The NIFT Bhopal management expressed gratitude to Sanjay Tripathi for providing valuable guidance on aligning technological innovation with constitutional language implementation goals.
