CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A first-year student at NIFT shared her experience of her first Janmashtami celebration at the institute, saying, “This was a very new experience for me. The pooja reminded me of home. After a long time, I ate while sitting on the floor in a traditional setting. The matki phod and tug-of-war were new to me, and I had a lot of fun. It was also great to meet so many people.

” On this occasion, all the students were dressed in traditional Radha and Krishna attire, which made the campus a unique and attractive place. The students created Radha and Krishna artwork and decorated the institute using leftover fabrics (chindi) and old items, reflecting the concepts of ‘Best Out of Waste’ and ‘Sustainability.’ During the Dahi Handi ceremony, the students formed a human pyramid to break the pot, representing a significant aspect of Lord Krishna’s life.

This was followed by a tug-of-war, where all the students showcased their strength, bringing together the diverse cultures of India. Lieutenant Colonel Ashish Agrawal praised the students’ enthusiasm, stating, “The Janmashtami celebration at NIFT Bhopal reflects the institute’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.”

The event was a successful display, promoting a collective and festive atmosphere within the institute
