CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NIFT Bhopal welcomed its new batch during Orientation 2026, held from July 29 to 31, 2026.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bhopal, began its Orientation Programme 2026 with pride, welcoming 261 new students across different courses, including Fashion Design (FD-44), Textile Design (TD-37), Knitwear Design (KD-34), Fashion and Lifestyle Accessory (F&LA-38), Fashion Communication (FC-42), Fashion Management Studies (FMS-31) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFT-35).
The three-day programme included formal sessions and interactive workshops to help students settle smoothly into campus life.

Key highlights included document verification, hostel allotment and check-in.
The inaugural programme, held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, B-112, began with Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of the lamp. This was followed by a welcome address by the Link CC – Foundation Programme (FP). CAC – Campus Academic Coordinator Dr Debjyoti Ganguly spoke about the journey of the NIFT Bhopal campus. Director Akhil Sahai welcomed the NIFTians and advised them to fulfil their parents’ dreams through honesty, punctuality and dedicated hard work.
Guidance sessions for students provided information on hostel rules, CMS registration, institute regulations, scholarships including Sarthak and Udaan, the laptop policy, elective subjects and extra-curricular opportunities.

Awareness workshops were held on anti-ragging laws, gender sensitisation, plagiarism, the social media policy and counselling support.
Academic presentations introduced department-wise curricula, including DS – Deepening Specialisation and IDM – Inter-Disciplinary Major, along with craft clusters, I&DL – International and Domestic Linkages, RC – Resource Centre and examination policies covering CGPA/SGPA and attendance.

Engagement activities included ice-breaking sessions, a tree plantation drive, interaction with alumni and student awards.
A field visit to Jagdishpur, Bhopal, was scheduled on the final day to promote experiential learning.
The orientation programme reflected NIFT Bhopal’s commitment to promoting creativity, discipline and holistic development. Its aim was to ensure that students are well prepared for their academic journey and future careers in the field of fashion and design. The administration, admissions, academics, accounts, hostel team, coordinators of student development activities and other nodal officers, faculty, staff and student volunteers worked together to make the programme successful.
