CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NIFT Bhopal Hosts Spectrum 2025 “Adivista” to Celebrate Tribal Heritage and Innovation

In alignment with the Government of India’s notification of Tribal Pride Year on November 15, 2025, the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bhopal successfully hosted the Inter-College NIFT Fest, Spectrum 2025. Keeping in mind NIFT’s visionary approach, Lt. Col. Ashish Agarwal, Director of NIFT Bhopal, had selected this theme as early as 2024.

NIFT’s Spectrum was named “Adivista,” a term derived from Sanskrit, where “Adi” means ancient and “Vista” means beautiful landscape. The purpose of this theme was to encourage students to envision a vibrant, modern landscape while showcasing traditional heritage.

Day 1: Cultural & Sports Activities

The first day of Spectrum 2025 featured a variety of stalls, cultural events, and sports activities, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere for participants.

Day 2: Alumni Meet 2025 & Fashion Show

The second day began with the Alumni Meet 2025, coordinated by Ms. Namrata Singh, Assistant Professor & Regional Industry Coordinator (RIC). This special event was an opportunity for alumni to reconnect, relive campus memories, and explore new collaborations.

During the event, Distinguished Alumni Award was conferred upon Mr. Abhijeet Banik, a proud alumnus of NIFT.

Tribal Round: A Special Tribute to Bhil Community

The highlight of Spectrum 2025’s Fashion Show was the “Tribal Round”, in which 16 members of the Bhil community participated as models, presenting their traditional attire and jewelry.

The primary objective of this initiative was to honor and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh’s tribal communities, particularly the Bhil tribe. By incorporating traditional tribal fashion into modern runway design, NIFT students brought attention to the authentic beauty and legacy of indigenous craftsmanship.
