CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation (NIMHR), Sehore, celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and inclusivity, aligning with this year’s global theme — “Yoga for Self and Society: One Earth, One Health.”
More than 30 persons with disabilities from Sehore district, along with faculty members, staff, and students of the institute, actively participated in the event.

The program began with a 45-minute inclusive Common Yoga Protocol session and guided meditation, promoting unity, awareness, and physical vitality among participants. This was followed by a workshop on “Yoga and Mental Health”, which emphasized the role of traditional methods in strengthening mental resilience and emotional well-being.
A health camp was also organized on the occasion, offering general health check-ups and consultations. Cultural performances by participants with disabilities added vibrance and inspiration to the event.

The program was conducted under the leadership of NIMHR Director Akhilesh Kumar Shukla. The chief guest, Pradeep Sethi, Private Secretary to the Joint Secretary (Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, graced the event with his presence.
NIMHR’s celebration of International Yoga Day reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive health, mental well-being, and empowerment of persons with disabilities, resonating with national priorities and the global call for harmony and sustainable development.
