CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Special Health Camp Organized for Officials under ‘Nirogi Kaya’ Campaign in Bhopal

As part of the ongoing ‘Nirogi Kaya’ campaign for the screening of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), a special health check-up camp was organized for officers and employees working at the State Secretariat (Mantralaya) on March 23 and 24. The campaign is being conducted from February 20 to March 31.

On the first day, 240 officials and employees underwent health screenings. Liver tests were conducted using a FibroScan machine, and the camp continued on the following day as well.

The health camp was held under the initiative of Mrs. Saloni Sidana, Mission Director, National Health Mission, and organized by the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal.

Under the guidance of Additional Chief Secretary of General Administration Department, Mr. Sanjay Dubey, the camp received active support from Additional Secretary Shailbala Martin, Deputy Secretaries Manoj Srivastava and Dhurve, and others.

Members of the Secretariat Employees’ Association, including Sudhir Nayak and other office bearers, encouraged a large number of employees to avail the health services provided.

In the camp:

112 people underwent liver testing via the FibroScan machine.

240 individuals were screened for non-communicable diseases, including 63 women and 177 men.

180 pathology samples were collected for further testing.

50 individuals received oral health check-ups, and no major issues were found.

Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bhopal, Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, informed that the Nirogi Kaya campaign involves screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, breast cancer, oral cancer, and cervical cancer.

So far, more than 1.5 lakh individuals have been screened in Bhopal under this campaign. During this drive, over 12,000 hypertension and more than 13,000 diabetes cases have been identified. Additionally, over 11,000 people were found with early signs of liver-related issues.

This campaign reflects a strong push for preventive healthcare and early diagnosis of chronic illnesses to ensure better public health outcomes in the region.
