CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NITTTR Bhopal and CPSC Manila have jointly launched a five-day international training program on “Empowering Technical, Vocational Education and Training: An Initiative on Future Skills and Emerging Technologies,” with participants from 16 countries.
The inaugural session’s chief guest, K.K. Shukla, Director of MANIT Bhopal, emphasized the importance of practical knowledge alongside theoretical learning, stating that practical experience exposes individuals to real-world challenges that cannot be fully grasped through textbooks alone.
NITTTR Bhopal Director C.C. Tripathi highlighted the focus on vocational education at all levels within the National Education Policy, noting that skilled manpower is highly needed in the country. He explained that vocational education is crucial for several reasons, including increasing employment opportunities, contributing to national economic growth, promoting self-reliance and entrepreneurship, preparing for future shifts in job markets, offering alternatives to traditional education, and meeting the global demand for skills. Significant progress has been made in this field in India over the past decade.
S.K. Dhamija, Director General of CPSC Manila, remarked on the significant shifts in education worldwide, stressing that teachers must continuously enhance their skills and competencies. Problem-based learning, he noted, is now more relevant than traditional methods. Dr. Kesavan Ulaganathan from Manila and program coordinator Rajesh Khambayat outlined the five-day program, with Anita Lala managing the event’s proceedings.
