CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NITTTR Bhopal Hosts Three-Day Training Program on Academic Leadership Development for College Principals

The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) Bhopal is organizing a three-day training program on “Academic Leadership Development for Governance and Management of Institutes” for Principals of Prime Excellence and Autonomous Colleges under Madhya Pradesh’s Higher Education Department. The program, which runs until March 19, 2025, is designed to enhance leadership skills in educational institutions.

NITTTR Director, Prof. C.C. Tripathi, while addressing the first batch of principals, emphasized that leaders in higher education hold a crucial responsibility in shaping institutes of excellence. He stated, “NITTTR Bhopal does not just aim to witness your development but to actively participate in it. Instead of a rule-based approach, adopt a role-based approach. It is essential to develop self-sufficient institutions and assign tasks based on individual competencies.”

Prof. Tripathi also discussed key national initiatives, including the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Skill Development, and the Government of India’s Karmayogi Scheme. He highlighted that effective leadership in academic institutions is a driving force for societal transformation.

Key Highlights of the Training Program:

Alignment with NEP 2020, National Curriculum Framework (NCRF), and National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF).

Implementation of UGC guidelines for curriculum development.

Training on digital technology integration, SWOT analysis, and strategic planning for institutional vision, mission, and goals.

Insights into NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) accreditation policies.

The program coordinator, B.L. Gupta, successfully led the training, with faculty support from Sanjay Agrawal, Prof. Parag Dubey, and Prof. Ashish Deshpande.

This initiative aims to empower academic leaders with governance and management expertise, enabling them to drive positive change in the education sector.
