CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: NITTTR Bhopal has launched an innovative initiative to instill a sense of responsibility toward the environment in children. The institute provided children in its community the opportunity to nurture fruit-bearing and shade-giving plants, tagged with their names.
Each child was informed that the plant bearing their name was now their responsibility. The joy and excitement on their faces were evident as they saw their name plaques next to the plants, embracing the sentiment of “My Name, My Tree.”
These children will visit their plants daily to care for them. In his message, the institute’s Director, C.C. Tripathi, stated that the initiative aims to make children environmentally conscious and responsible alongside their academic education.
Emphasizing the importance of emotional connection, he added, “Such a bond with nature is possible only when children are given opportunities to understand the significance of the environment.”
The institute plans to develop a “Veer Bal Udyan” (Brave Children’s Garden) on its campus. This garden will serve as an inspiration for children, where they can learn about environmental conservation, education, and the importance of play, all in one space.
Faculty members, staff, and their children, including Vandana Tripathi, were present during the event.
