CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: This week, the education community in the capital resonated with a powerful message: “Eradicate Ragging at Its Roots.” As part of Anti-Ragging Week, which continues until 18th August, LNCT University celebrated Anti-Ragging Day on its campus.
The program began at 12 PM, with faculty members and hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate students participating. Everyone took a unified pledge to not only stay away from ragging themselves but also actively contribute to making the campus 100% ragging-free.
Addressing the students, Dr. Nalini Mishra, Chairperson of the Anti-Ragging Committee and Dean of LN Medical College, said: “Ragging is a serious offense that harms not only the mental and physical health of the victim but also the academic environment. The goal of the LNCT family is to ensure that every student feels safe, respected, and motivated. We will take all possible steps to ensure that there is no place for ragging here.”
D.K. Satyapati, Secretary of the Anti-Ragging Committee, added: “Any form of ragging—even as a joke—is never acceptable. We must collectively create an environment where seniors and juniors respect and support each other. This campaign should not be limited to just one week; it must continue throughout the year.”
Presence of Senior Faculty and Officials:
University members D.K. Pal, Rajendra Kumar Nigam, Sangeeta Chauhan, N.K. Suryavanshi, Rashmi Bajpai, and Shivam Diwan were also present. With their participation, students were administered the pledge to eliminate ragging and foster a friendly learning environment.
LNCT University Management stated that measures such as a 24×7 helpline, Anti-Ragging Committee, CCTV monitoring, and regular counseling sessions are already in place to ensure that every student can study in a safe and secure environment.
