CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Statistics Office (NSO), Gwalior, organized a four-day Regional Training Camp (RTC) focused on the 80th round of the National Sample Survey (NSS). The training covered key topics, including Household Social Consumption: Health, Comprehensive Modular Survey (CMS) – Telecom (CMS-T), the revised Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), and the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Service Enterprises (ASUSE).** The NSS 80th round is scheduled to be conducted from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.

The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Gajendra Soni, Director of NSO Gwalior, and attended by officials from the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Gwalior, along with senior and junior statistical officers. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Soni elaborated on the objectives of the surveys and highlighted the significance of the NSS process. He emphasized the role of the CMS-T in evaluating telecom performance and the importance of the Social Consumption Survey on Health. Furthermore, the PLFS will focus on key labor market indicators, while ASUSE aims to gather data on unincorporated service enterprises.

The NSO collects socio-economic data across India through its surveys, which play a crucial role in policymaking. The organization upholds principles of transparency, fairness, and relevance in data collection and appeals to respondents to cooperate in providing accurate and reliable information.
