CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: National Service Scheme (NSS) Day was celebrated today at the Central Sanskrit University, Bhopal campus. The event was attended by Campus In-Charge Director Subodh Sharma, Associate Director Shri Govind Pandey, and Section Officer Manish Lohani. The program began with the lighting of the lamp near the statue of Goddess Saraswati, followed by the ceremonial welcome of the guests by NSS volunteers Yogendra Bhargav and Ramanand Pandey with NSS badges and tilak.
Research scholars Ankur Pandey and Pushkar Tiwari, along with students Yogendra Bhargav, Ashutosh Mishra, and Gauri Bhawani, shared their experiences and achievements in NSS activities. Following this, Section Officer Manish Lohani delivered a speech on “NSS and Social Service through Education.” Associate Director Shri Govind Pandey emphasized the importance of dedicating one hour per week to social service, and the program was chaired by Campus In-Charge Director Prof. Subodh Sharma, who highlighted that students, by participating in such activities alongside their studies, can connect with society, understand its challenges, seek solutions, and gain education through practical experience while serving humanity.
In this context, Director of Sports Dr. Vivek Kumar Singh, Dr. Mahima Tiwari, and Karunesh also addressed the students and congratulated the campus for its achievements in NSS. On this occasion, under the “Swachhta Hi Seva” campaign, students took a cleanliness pledge and participated in community service (shramdan) within the campus. A slogan-writing competition on cleanliness and blood donation was organized for students, in which more than 15 students participated.
The program was conducted by NSS Program Officer Dr. Rakesh Verma. A large number of students participated, including Sangeeta Gundecha, Vamdev Mishra, Sumit Saxena, Ashish Shri Pachauri, Shridilip Kumar, Ashu, Amit Saini, Rohit Pachauri, Ajit Singh, Rakshendra, Saurabh Nayak, Arvind Verma, Ramendranjan Karn, Neeraj Pathak, Avneesh Upadhyay, NSS volunteers Ratnesh Dubey, Pankaj Kumar, Shyamdev Mishra, Deepika Kaushal, Jayant Bhatt, Nikhil Tiwari, Jainendra Mishra, Raju Kumar, Bikram Kumar, Manish Pidhiya, Akash Sarkar, Vinay Kumar, Bhagyalakshmi, and many others.
