CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Rabindranath Tagore University organized a seven-day special camp in Hinotia village near the Rapid Action Force base under the guidance of Pro-Chancellor Aditi Chaturvedi and the direction of Acting Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Kumar Gupta and Registrar Sangeeta Johri. The camp was held on the themes of “Youth for My India” and “Digital Literacy” and included morning processions, yoga sessions, project work, rallies, street plays, wall writings, intellectual sessions, village outreach, and cultural performances as daily activities.
The intellectual sessions featured renowned scholars from Bhopal who enriched the participants’ knowledge by addressing topics such as nation-building, women empowerment, youth power and character development, the role of youth in social service, digital literacy and cyber fraud, banking and insurance awareness. Esteemed speakers included R.K. Paliwal, convenor of Gandhi Gram Seva Samiti and former Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Professor Surendra Bihari Goswami, senior spiritual scholar, Arvind Shridhar, Director of Gyan Teerth Sapre Museum, R.S. Narwaria, district organizer of NSS, renowned Hindi ghazal poet Sudhir Kumar Sharma, Usha Sharma, senior educationist Professor Amitabh Saxena, Mukesh Bansode, senior manager of The New India Assurance Company, journalist and social worker Abhishek Agyani, CID Inspector and Director Rajan Ahirwar, among other dignitaries from various fields.
As part of the project work, the camp undertook the deepening of a village pond. Additionally, street plays and rallies on digital literacy and cervical cancer awareness were organized. Cultural programs included folk dance performances from Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh’s tribal communities.
The camp was managed and coordinated by Dr. Rekha Gupta, Program Officer of the Girls’ NSS Unit, and Gabbar Singh, Program Officer of the Boys’ NSS Unit. The camp leadership was provided by national campers Jamshed Alam and Sonia Meena.
The concluding ceremony featured a grand Shiva Baraat, where Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Vishnu, Goddess Lakshmi, and Lord Hanuman led a traditional wedding procession, accompanied by dancing spirits and celestial beings. Villagers performed aarti and sought blessings from the deities.
