CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : A meeting of the State-Level Advisory Committee of the National Service Scheme (NSS) was held in the conference hall of the Ministry, where comprehensive discussions were conducted on various key points, and necessary guidelines were issued.
It was directed that the State-Level Advisory Committee meeting of the NSS be organized regularly every six months. Instructions were also given to restart university-level training camps with the assistance provided by the universities. It was emphasized that training for program officers must be made mandatory. Until proper arrangements for a 7-day training program are in place, instructions were given to conduct one- or two-day training programs at the district/university level.
NSS activities should be organized based on priority and reviewed during departmental meetings. Universities were instructed to prepare an action plan to provide additional weightage to volunteer students for their participation in various NSS activities during academic evaluations.

Guidelines were also given to implement different aspects of the “Adopted Village” scheme meaningfully at the grassroots level. Universities should ensure outcome-oriented implementation in villages through the NSS. NSS volunteers should also conduct surveys on important issues such as employment and self-employment in villages.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education Anupam Rajan, Secretary of the School Education Department Sanjay Goyal, Commissioner of Higher Education Prabal Sipaha, Additional Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department Dinesh Jain, State NSS Officer Manoj Kumar Agnihotri, Vice Chancellors of various universities, representatives of various volunteer organizations, NSS program coordinators of affiliated universities, and other committee members.
