CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A programme to mark National Service Scheme Foundation Day at Babulal Gaur Government Postgraduate College, BHEL, Bhopal, was inaugurated by the college principal, Dr. Sanjay Jain, who lit the ceremonial lamp and offered garlands before the images of Maa Sharda and Swami Vivekananda.
The volunteers welcomed all guests by applying tilak and presenting them with NSS badges. Addressing the orientation programme organised on the 58th Foundation Day, Principal Dr. Jain extended warm greetings to all volunteers and appreciated their efforts. He said the National Service Scheme is a constructive campaign for personality development through social service. It provides young people an opportunity to recognise and refine their talent, while also developing discipline and leadership ability.
Girls’ unit programme officer Dr. Geeta Chauhan gave detailed information about the history and objectives of NSS and the various activities to be organised during the session.
This was followed by engaging cultural presentations by NSS volunteers, including speeches, poster-making, slogan writing, patriotic songs, Saraswati Vandana, stage decoration and presentations based on social awareness. The programme was successfully conducted by B.Com first-year student Kumari Chitranshi Yadav.
At the end of the programme, programme officer Dr. Sanjay Bankar proposed the vote of thanks. A large number of volunteers, including Mahak Kushwaha, Prachi Bagul, Anamika Yadav, Aanchal Sawanar, Virendra Harijan, Sohit Meena, Ashwin Ramteke, Pahal Mishra, Pooja Verma, Jatin Joshi, Sakshi Kushwaha, Prachi Vishwakarma, Sita Rajak, Triveni, Jyoti Verma, Khushboo Khatarkar, Shriya Vishwakarma and Astha Ahirwar, actively participated. All officers, employees and students of the college were present on the occasion.
