CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Several important recommendations have been proposed to improve the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA). These include taking undertakings from candidates who reach examination centres late, and restricting political rallies and crowded activities around examination centres. The aim is to make examinations more organised, transparent and secure, and to protect candidates from difficulties during the examination process.

According to the recommendations, rules requiring candidates to reach examination centres on time need to be implemented effectively. In cases involving candidates who arrive late, the report suggests adopting a clear procedure and taking the required undertaking so that there is no confusion over entry rules. It also stresses giving priority to security arrangements, the entry process and candidate convenience at examination centres.

The committee has also suggested changes in the paperwork carried out during examinations. Under this, it has recommended setting aside a separate 15 minutes before the start of the examination or after it ends for procedures such as signatures and verification. This would reduce the possibility of candidates being distracted during the examination and their exam time being affected. The parliamentary committee has also said adequate arrangements for traffic and law and order should be made in advance on examination days. The report also emphasises NTA accountability, security at examination centres and making the examination system more transparent. All these suggestions are currently recommendations of the parliamentary committee and have not yet become implemented rules.
