CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Nursing Institute of Rabindranath Tagore University organized “Nurses Week 2025” with a variety of inspirational programs and activities. This year’s theme for Nurses Week was “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for Nurses Strengthens Economies,” aimed at encouraging the contributions of nurses and promoting their empowerment and self-pride.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by chief guests Sunita Lawrence, President of TNAI (Madhya Pradesh) and Principal of Pragyan College of Nursing, along with Mrs. Aji Koshi, DNS at BMHRC (ICMR), Bhopal. Aji Koshi is not only a senior nurse but also the first nurse to represent India at Mrs. Central India 2024 and Mrs. Elite Celebrity India 2025. Dr. C.P. Mishra, Dean of Medical Sciences at AISECT Group of Universities (AGU), was also specially present at the event. The program was presided over by Daisy Thomas, Principal of RNTU Nursing Institute, who emphasized the need to invest in the nursing profession and strengthen the healthcare system through it.
Throughout the week-long celebration, students and faculty actively participated in various academic, creative, and professional activities.
Highlights included a Reels competition, a special lecture on palliative care by Dr. Pramila R., Principal of Chirayu College of Nursing, and a session on personality development by Jincy T. Mathew, Vice Principal of Kasturba College of Nursing. An intercollegiate paper presentation competition was also held, showcasing innovative research and thought-provoking ideas from nursing students. The judges for the competition were Dr. Shiny Benjamin, Principal of the Academy of Nursing and Health Science, and Prof. Sony Toppo, Principal of Career College of Nursing. A rangoli competition displayed the students’ creativity, where nursing students combined art and awareness through thematic designs.
On the closing day, a CPR skill training session was conducted by Mr. Alby K. Paul, who trained participants in life-saving techniques. The closing ceremony featured special guests Sangeeta Johri, Registrar of RNTU, and Rama Taneja, Principal of Kushabhau Thakre College of Nursing, Bhopal. On this occasion, the “Nurses Voice 2024-25” newsletter, summarizing all departmental activities of the academic year 2024-25, was also released. Winners of all competitions were honored with awards and certificates.
