CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the National Nutrition Mission and Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Postgraduate College, Bhopal, successfully organised a “Nutritious Dish Competition” under the guidance of college principal Pratima Yadav.
The main theme and objective of the competition was the development of “iron- and protein-rich dishes” that could help address anaemia among adolescent girl students.
A total of 24 students participated enthusiastically in the competition and showcased their culinary skills and nutrition-related innovations. During the programme, the principal tasted the dishes prepared by the students, appreciated their efforts and encouraged them. She said that adequate iron and protein in the diet are essential for preventing anaemia among women and adolescent girls.

The competition was organised under the leadership of Dr. Anita Chaurasia, head of the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition, and conducted by Dr. Renu Srivastava, Dr. Neha Chaudhary and Saumya Sahu, with special support from Julie Singh, Sunita Mahto, Anjali Vishwakarma, Neetu Pal and Shweta Kushram.
The nutritious and tasty dishes prepared by the students were evaluated on the basis of taste, nutritional value and presentation. The programme concluded with the message of nutrition, health security and an anaemia-free society.
