CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Railways and the Railway Board, Official Language Fortnight-2026 and the ‘Sign in Hindi’ campaign were launched at the Passenger Coach Rebuilding Workshop, Nishatpura, Bhopal. The programme was inaugurated by P.S. Raghuvanshi, chairman of the Workshop Official Language Implementation Committee and Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Passenger Coach Rebuilding Workshop, Bhopal, by signing in Hindi.
At the beginning of the programme, committee chairman P.S. Raghuvanshi formally inaugurated the event by garlanding the portrait of Maa Saraswati and lighting the ceremonial lamp. Thereafter, the ‘Official Language Festival’, to be held until October 1, 2026, began through the ‘Sign in Hindi’ campaign.
Subsequently, the 89th meeting of the Workshop Official Language Implementation Committee for the quarter ending June 2026 was held. At the start of the meeting, Works Manager Akshay Gangarwal welcomed committee chairman P.S. Raghuvanshi by presenting him with a plant. Liaison Official Language Officer and Assistant Personnel Officer Sandeep Sharma then delivered the welcome address. He gave brief information about the various competitions proposed under the Official Language Fortnight to be organised in the office and outlined the agenda of the meeting.
In his presidential address, P.S. Raghuvanshi said it was a matter of happiness that the work of using and promoting the official language Hindi in the workshop was being carried out with full dedication and active participation. He said the workshop is located in Region ‘A’ and Hindi is not only the official language but also the mother tongue. In such a situation, there should be no difficulty in effectively implementing the Government of India’s official language policy. He said, “The imagination we can develop in our own language is not possible in another language, no matter how proficient we may be in that language.”
Raghuvanshi said that, as central government employees, ensuring compliance with the official language policy is the collective responsibility of all. He informed officers, shop and section in-charges about the constitutional provisions related to the official language Hindi and called upon them to contribute actively to the development, use and promotion of Hindi. He also shared constructive suggestions for increasing the percentage of Hindi used in official work.
He praised the ‘Sign in Hindi’ campaign organised by the Official Language Section and congratulated all officers and employees associated with the campaign, while extending best wishes for the successful organisation of the upcoming Hindi competitions. Officers from various departments of the workshop, shop and section in-charges, supervisors, the Chief Office Superintendent and their representatives attended the meeting. The programme was conducted by Nitiraj Choure, and Liaison Official Language Officer Sandeep Sharma expressed gratitude to all.
