CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: After launching the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple has also sharply increased prices of older iPhone models. Usually, older models become cheaper after a new series arrives, but this time the picture is the opposite. In India, the price of the iPhone 17 has risen by around ₹17,000, while the price of the 1TB model of the iPhone Air has increased by up to ₹65,000.

According to the new prices, the 256GB model of the iPhone 17 is now available for ₹99,900. The price of the iPhone 16 has also risen to around ₹89,900. Prices of the iPhone 17e and iPhone Air have also been increased significantly. The major reason for the price rise is said to be the rising global cost of memory and storage chips. Increased demand for memory chips in the AI and data centre sectors has put pressure on supply, affecting smartphone costs. In India, local factors such as taxes and import duties also influence prices. As a result, customers hoping to save money by buying older models after the iPhone 18 launch have received a major setback this time.
