CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: To raise awareness about the role of museums as mirrors of education, research development, and societal progress, the Regional Science Center, Bhopal, in collaboration with the Geological Survey of India, State Unit, Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, is celebrating International Museum Day on May 18, 2024. As part of this program, a temporary exhibition centered around the theme “MP’s Geo-Tourism Sites” will be organized, showcasing glimpses of some unique geological sites of MP, such as Bhedaghat-Lamheta Ghat, Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, the ravines of Chambal, Dhala Ulkapiṇḍ Impact Crater, Ghughua Fossil National Park, and Majhgawan Diamond Mines, highlighting their geological significance. The exhibition will also feature rare mineral samples, rock specimens, and fossils found in MP.

The inauguration of this exhibition will be done by Mr. Subhrasuchi Sarkar, Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India, Madhya Pradesh Unit, by the Government of MP, and it will be open to the public from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on that day. Additionally, in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Museum of Man, Bhopal, an Astro-Night Tourism program will be organized on their premises from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, featuring observation of some visible celestial bodies through a telescope.
