CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On his final working day, Vice-Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication, K.G. Suresh, executed three significant initiatives aimed at the welfare of the university’s employees and students, including the establishment of a daycare center. These initiatives include the setup of the Vatsalya daycare (creche) under CSR with ₹1.5 lakh support from the State Bank of India, OPD services for employees and their families at CGHS rates in 34 hospitals across Bhopal, and the introduction of Web OPAC in the Nalanda library.
Prof. Suresh stated that the establishment of the daycare center will allow female employees to have a safe space for their young children with provisions for food and play, enabling them to focus on their work without worry. Through Web OPAC, faculty and students can view the list of available books in the university’s library from anywhere in the world via the university’s website.
He also mentioned that the agreement with 34 hospitals will provide employees and their families with substantial discounts on medical consultations and treatment. Present at the occasion were University Registrar Avinash Vajpayee, Head of the Library Department Aarti Sarang, Legal Officer Deepak Chouksey, along with faculty, officers, and staff.
Additionally, a farewell ceremony was organized by the teachers, officers, employees, and their families residing in the university’s Makhampuram residential campus to honor Vice-Chancellor K.G. Suresh on his last day. He was warmly welcomed and honored. Prof. Suresh expressed his gratitude, stating that he was overwhelmed by the love and respect he received. It is noteworthy that the university’s green 50-acre Makhampuram campus was shifted under his leadership in 2023. Registrar Avinash Vajpayee was also present on this occasion.
