CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief and Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has ruled out returning to an alliance with Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, responding to recent remarks on political alliances ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Rajbhar said the political relationship between his party and the SP had already ended and indicated that he had accepted the separation. His remarks came after Akhilesh Yadav said that those willing to join hands against the BJP would be welcome.

Rajbhar also claimed that the SP could seek his support again as the Uttar Pradesh elections approach. He referred to the importance of Purvanchal in the state's electoral politics and made a political assessment about the SP's prospects without providing evidence for the claim.

Asked whether he would consider switching back if the SP offered him a large number of Assembly seats, Rajbhar said he would not return. His comments reflect the continuing political distance between the SBSP and the SP.

Rajbhar has been part of the BJP-led NDA and has frequently criticised Akhilesh Yadav and the SP. Earlier, he had also made claims about a possible split within the SP, which the Samajwadi Party rejected.

The latest exchange comes as political parties in Uttar Pradesh begin positioning themselves for the 2027 Assembly elections, with alliance-building and seat-sharing emerging as significant issues in the state's political discourse.
