CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A one-day official language conference was organized at AIIMS Bhopal. While inaugurating the conference, the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Ajay Singh, stated that Hindi is a language that easily assimilates words from any other language. We should take pride in this fact. Even during the freedom struggle, Hindi played a significant role as a lingua franca. Medical education-related books are available in Hindi at the library of AIIMS Bhopal, and a separate budget provision has been made for it.
On this occasion, Harish Singh Chauhan, Assistant Director of the Regional Implementation Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Official Language Department, mentioned that working in the official language domain is unique. The policy of the Indian government is to write as we speak.
Discussing the constitutional nature of the official language, Khem Singh Daheriya, Vice-Chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, stated that today Hindi is the most spoken language in the world. A warm welcome to the attendees was given by Colonel Ajit Kumar, Deputy Director (Administration) of AIIMS Bhopal. Additionally, a book launch on Primary Dental Science was conducted by Dr. Pankaj Goyal, Head of the Department of Pathology at AIIMS Bhopal. This book will be beneficial for MBBS students. Throughout the day, various lecture sessions were organized during the official language conference. Dr. Neelkamal Kapoor, former head of the Pathology Department at AIIMS Bhopal, delivered a lecture on why the study of medicine in Hindi is essential.
Furthermore, Vikas Dave, Director of the Madhya Pradesh Sahitya Akademi, Bhopal, expressed his views on the major challenges and solutions for increasing the use of Hindi in medical institutions. In the third session, Abhijeet Yadav, Assistant Professor at the Department of Anatomy, Hamidia Hospital Bhopal, discussed the challenges and personal experiences related to the Hindi translation of the medical curriculum. Dr. Anjali Potni, Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research, Bhopal, talked about the role of Unicode Hindi fonts and various translation tools on computers in promoting the use of Hindi.
Apart from representatives of various central offices, members, officials, and employees of AIIMS Bhopal also participated in this official language conference, with approximately 170 participants overall.
