CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Official Language, and the Railway Board, “Rajbhasha Fortnight – 2024” is being organized at the General Manager’s Office of West Central Railway under the leadership of General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay and the guidance of Chief Materials Manager and Chief Official Language Officer Manoj Kumar Gupta, running until September 30, 2024.
During Rajbhasha Fortnight – 2024, various events are being held, including a Hindi essay competition, note and draft writing competition, a Hindi speech competition on September 24, 2024, an officer’s quiz on September 25, 2024, and the closing ceremony with an award distribution and poetry session on September 30, 2024, under the chief guestship of General Manager Shobhana Bandyopadhyay.
At the inauguration of the Rajbhasha Fortnight, the Hindi Day message of the General Manager, West Central Railway, was read out in all departments. Following this, the ‘Rajbhasha Quiz’ program was conducted under the chairmanship of Chief Materials Manager and Chief Official Language Officer Manoj Kumar Gupta. The event began with Director Gupta offering flowers to the portrait of Saraswati, followed by a Saraswati Vandana presented by Rizwan Ali of the Cultural Academy.
In the quiz competition, questions related to current events, general knowledge about railways, and constitutional provisions of the official language, as well as information on various award schemes, were asked in an engaging manner. The main objective of this competition was to spread knowledge among employees and promote the use of Hindi as the official language. Employees from various departments of the General Manager’s office enthusiastically participated in the event.
On this occasion, Chairman Gupta read the Hindi Day message from the Honorable Railway Minister of the Government of India. In his address, Director Manoj Kumar Gupta expressed his happiness over the effective implementation of the Union’s official language policies in West Central Railway. He also expressed his delight at one officer of this railway receiving the Kamalapati Tripathi Rajbhasha Gold Medal, another officer receiving the Rajbhasha Silver Medal, and two employees winning the Munshi Premchand Award in the All-India Hindi Note and Draft Writing Competition.
The program was hosted by Senior Translator Bipul Kumar Mandal, and Headquarters Official Language Officer Sant Lal Marskole was also present and expressed gratitude to the chairperson and the participating employees.
