CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: As part of Nutrition Month 2025, a district-level orientation program focusing on male awareness and participation during the first 1,000 days of life was organized at the Career College Auditorium. The event was attended by Joint Director, Women & Child Development, Bhopal, Akshay Srivastava, Deputy Director, Yelam Baghel, District Program Officer Sunil Solanki, Principal of Career College, Charanjit Kaur, along with officials and experts from various departments and organizations, Anganwadi workers, college students, and approximately 350 participants.

Director Solanki presented a summary of activities conducted in the district during Nutrition Month, highlighting that the exhibition of nutrition dishes prepared by men was a special feature of the program. Gynecologist Priya Bhave highlighted the significance of the first 1,000 golden days, sharing important information on prenatal and postnatal nutrition.

Nutrition expert Amita Singh emphasized the importance of preparing nutritious meals at home and warned about the harmful effects of junk food. The program also included a play performed by the Arambh team on the theme “Nutritious Food vs. Junk Food”, which received appreciation from the participants. Career College Principal Charanjit Kaur explained the importance of a balanced diet to the students.

Joint Director Srivastava noted that for the first time, active participation of men in nutrition initiatives is being observed, marking a positive step toward a healthy society. He led a collective pledge encouraging participants to promote nutritious meals and discourage junk food. The nutrition dish exhibition featured around 250 dishes, including dhokla, laddoo, barfi, and nutritious pancakes made from take-home rations. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Akhilesh Chandra Chaturvedi.
